what is best time & how to plant butterfly orchid ?
best time of year what kind of soil how much water temprature and general care etc.
i got seeds and i cant wait to plant them!
The ideal temperature for it is 20 degress celcius, it should be planted and bought in spring, there should be no bugs in the soiul when buying a butterfly orchid, it should be watered when the soil is dry to the touch with luck warm water, it should be in a sunny window, when the flowers are in bloom take it out of the sunlight and put it in the shade to make the flowers last longer, after the flowers have faded let the foliage grow and in 2 months i will bloom again, if there are bugs use an insecticide and spray the bugs directly, it will not hurt the plant they sell insecticides at your local garden center for 7.49$, spring is the best time to buy one, The price for a butterfly orchid is ussually 19.99$-29.99$, and fertilize it with a regular fertilizer 20-20-20 they sell them at plant shops for 3.99$9.99$ depending how big the bottle is. It will take 3-5 weeks before the seeds will germinate and make sure to leave the seeds in there until the baby orchids get pot bound this happens when the roots start coming out of the pot. It will ussulally take 1-3 years for the butterfly orchid to bloom depending how much light it gets.
