How do i care for my Orchid type plant husband bought it for me at weekend the only instructions that came ?
with it were ,Care:moderately bright never direct sunlight,keep moist,keep at room temperature,fertilise every month ,but it look as if it will need a bit more care than that it doesn’t look as if it’s grown from a bulb but tubers as the pot it’s in is see through and it has no dirt/compost but what look s like bark/wood chipping it’s really pretty but i need to know how to look after it properly.
The main dont’s for healthy orchids are, do not over water and do not place in direct sunlight but they do need plenty of light.A window sill covered by net curtains is ideal.When you water do not leave the pot standing in water but soak the the complete pot in water then let it drain all the water out.During the winter it will only need watering about once a week and always use tepid water.Orchids like high humidity so spray them every day, again using tepid water.I have orchids that i have had for three years and grow in an ordinary home enviroment.When the orchid has finished flowering cut off the flowering stem as close to the leaves as you can.I hope this has been of some help to you.
