I have 2 large cymbidium orchids one spouts flowers every year at this time but the other doesnt?
I water and feed them exactly the same 30-10-10 fertilizer feb- oct and 6-30-30 sept-feb. they are both established outdoor plants I live in sf bayarea. why dont you think the other orchid flowers like the other orchid I have? the other orchid just started to flower already this year.
That is quite a conundrum. Are they the same type of hybrid? Your climate is perfect for outdoor cultivation so it most likely is not temperature. Are they both getting the same amount of light, even in the winter? If the one is getting slightly less light that could be the reason. Does the non flowering one have a lot of leafless pseudobulbs? If it does then it may need to be divided. To many out of leaf pseudobulbs can put a drain on the plant. Divide it into plants consisting of 2 leafless pseudobulbs and 1 with leaves.
